Our founder and lead content consultant has been a content marketer since before such a label existed. In 2000, while still in college, he landed a summer job as an editor on the Colorado Guide, in which he researched and wrote the Black Canyon of the Gunnison chapter — a task that promoted his beautiful home state of Colorado to travelers.
This was a stepping stone toward a career in travel marketing with Miles | Weaver (formerly Weaver Multimedia Group), where he developed content strategies for such clients as the Colorado Tourism Office, NYC & Company, LA INC., Tourism Vancouver and the Wyoming Office of Tourism. In that time, he was called upon for dozens of new-business pitches, whereby he was mortified to discover that he is a pretty good salesman.
In 2011, Kevin founded Headwaters Content, a content strategy agency focused on making communications more compelling, more engaging and more SEO friendly. Within a year, Headwaters Content was serving a diverse client mix in luxury travel (Inspirato), adventure sports (Aspen-Snowmass) and non-governmental organizations (Water For People).
Kevin is also a highly regarded speaker, having held sessions on “Building a Successful Content Strategy” at both the Colorado and Wyoming Governor’s Conferences on Tourism.
